Abstract

1501656 Reciprocating pumps T TADA 26 Aug 1975 [9 Sept 1974] 35244/75 Heading F1A In a sprayer comprisng a cylinder 27 formed in a head 11 having a neck 14 secured to a container 10, a port 25 is formed in neck 14 for venting the container, port 25 being normally closed by a flexible sealing member 18 and being opened during the discharge stroke of a piston 30 by a rod 46 secured to the piston and arranged to deform member 18. Piston 30 is moved on its discharge stroke by a lever 42 acting via wedge-shaped projections (44a, 44b), Fig. 3 (not shown), engaging notches (45a, 45b) in piston flange 38, a spring 40 effecting the return stoke. Liquid enters cylinder 27 via an inlet check valve 27, and is discharged via outlet check valve 35 and spray nozzle 34, a swirl-producing formation 37a being formed on the end of valve stem 37. Sealing member 18 has a flange 19 which is clamped between neck 14 and container 10 by a threaded roller 22.
