Abstract
1500716 Servicing rotatable buildings A I FRANCIS 15 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 24113/74 Heading EIA [Also in Division F4] A rotatable building structure has a fixed base 7 and a rotatable base 1 running on an annular track 6 by means of rollers or wheels. The structure is provided with services and drainage by means of a fluid supply pipe 11 with a rotatable joint coupling and a fixed annular drain gully with which a drain conduit engages in all angular positions. The gully 11 sealed by the projection of concentric cylindrical flanges 20, 21 into annular gullys 15, 17 filled with water on either side of the drainage gully 16. Electricity may be supplied through brushes 27, 28 on slip rings 25, 26. The rotatable structure may comprise solar heating panels which track the sun throughout the year and the supply and drain services circulate water to the panels and to a tank which may be incorporated in the walls of a house as an inner cladding.
