Abstract

159,407. Lythe, A., and Ward, E. D. Feb. 13, 1920. Ladders; scaffolding and staging. - A scaffold support for ladders whereby boards may be supported on each side of the ladder at the same level consists of a Z- shaped frame; the middle arm B<3> which supports the boards being provided with an inverted U-shaped bend to seat on the ladder staves, while each end arm is hooked to engage over staves above and below and is provided also with a lug B' which engages the inner side of the ladder stale. The top hook may also be provided with a screw to prevent displacement. Extra bearers D for scaffolding may also be carried by these supports, and if desired the supports may be adapted to rest against the wall at one point to ensure sufficient support. Removable clamps E, Fig. 5, may be secured below the bearer portions B<3>, and to strengthen the ladder, wire rope may be secured behind the stiles by end clamps on the stiles.
