Abstract

158,432. Kidd, F. G., and Makins, W. B. Nov. 26, 1919. Self-feeding brushes. -A paint or like spraying-brush is c o n - structed so that the interior diameter of the brush M is approximately equal to, or slightly exceeds, the diameter of the " effective base " of the spray cone formed by the medial air and paint delivery nozzle A, and the working face of the brush lies in the plane of the effective base of the spray cone. This effective base is defined as being at a working distance from the spray nozzle, the working distance being determined by trial. The brush-stock L is held between a shoulder J on the lower part F<1>, and a head K on the upper part F, of the casing. The bristles act as a shield and localize the spray. The brush may be elliptical or of other form in cross-section.
