Abstract
156,908. Arrol-Johnston, Ltd., and Eastwood, G. W. Oct. 15, 1919. Latches, sliding; striking-plates.-Relates to door-fastenings, particularly applicable to motorvehicles, of the kind in which a spring-pressed plunger, operable by a finger-piece, normally fills the socket in the striking-plate before it reaches its limiting position, thus avoiding rattle. A tubular casing A is provided for fitting into a hole drilled in the door, and is formed with an extension A<2> to act as a fixing-lug. The bolt B terminates in a rounded nose B<1> to engage the stamped or cast catch-plate F, and is retracted by a finger-piece E' passing through a slot in the casing.
