Abstract
156,521. Signal Ges. Oct. 9, 1914, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Subaqueous audible signals. - A transmitter, especially for short-range signals, comprises a water-chamber b fitted with exterior sound-producing means, such as a clock-work hammer g for striking a tuning-fork e, the sound being conveyed through the water in the chamber b to the ship's skin a. To ensure an effective coupling with the surface a, the chamber b contains a ball k which can be blown up with air or water. Electromagnetic excitation may be used.
