Joints with yielding outer sleeve compressed. -In joints for pipes in which a rubber sleeve a is passed over the adjacent ends of the pipes b, b<1> and is compressed by internally tapered nuts c, c<1> screwed on to the ends of the rubber sleeve, an internal sleeve d is provided having an external central rib c against which the pipe ends abut. The sleeve d preferably has a Venturi form bore, and externally tapers outward towards the ends to give a certain amount of flexibility to the joint.
