Abstract

The cyclopentane derivatives of the formula II can be used as an aroma substance for perfumed products. They are prepared by hydroformylating an olefin of the formula III in the presence of a metal carbonyl compound as catalyst. In the formulae, R<1> and R<4> each denote an alkyl radical and R<2> and R<3> each denote a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical. <IMAGE>
