Abstract

The separating apparatus contains an endless rotating separating band (1) and a stripping device (2) arranged above the working strand of the separating band (1) and near its end. The separating band (1) is provided, on its surface, with elastically flexible fingers (1') forming a field. The stripping device (2) sweeps with stripping bristles (16) over the entire width of the finger field of the separating band (1). The stripping device (2) is designed as an endless bristle band, of which the surface assigned to the separating band (1) extends parallel to that of the separating band (1). This surface of the bristle band forms an angle in the running direction of the separating band (1). The constructionally simple separating apparatus affords a substantially increased separating efficiency than in the known separating apparatuses, even when the separating band has a large width and/or is loaded with relatively high throughput. <IMAGE>
