Abstract

154,064. Martin Engineering Co., and Jackson, E. Nov. 19, 1919. Perforated-tube burners.-A perforated-ring burner consists of a chamber 1 provided at its sides with a series of holes 3 to which bent perforated tubes 5 are brazed, welded, or otherwise secured. The holes 3 are preferably provided with flanges 4 to facilitate brazing. The gas mixture is supplied at or near the middle of the bottom of the chamber 1 by a pipe 2 provided with a hit-and-miss air-regulating sleeve 8 and with an automatic or hand regulating-tap. The movement of the sleeve is limited by a pin 10 and slot 11. In the burner shown, the holes 3 on one side of the chamber are staggered relatively to those on the other side so as to form a spiral burner, but the holes may be opposite to one another so as to form a concentric-ring burner. The chamber 1 may be fitted with baffle or direction plates.
