Abstract

1439984 Hold-open hinges AISIN SEIKI KK 21 Aug 1973 [21 Aug 1972] 39630/73 Heading E2F A hold-open hinge comprises: two portions 1, 2 each with a pair of parallel side walls 1b, 2b, c linked by a hinge pin 3; a torsion bar 7 attached to portion 2 with one end 7c movable in a slot 2p; a plate 8 attached to the bar at its end 7c and provided with an undulating cam surface; and a roller 10 mounted on portion 1 which engages the cam surface. The bar 7 has two bent-over end portions 7b, 7c and a central straight portion 7a, the portions 7b and 7a not being free to move relative to the portion 2 when roller 9 engages the cam surface. Projections 2e, j and 2i 2n are provided on the portion 2 to act as end stops for the roller. The hinge pin 3 has a serrated end portion 3b which engages side wall 2c for secure retention of the pin. Projections 2e, f engage the roller 10 to act as stops in the fully open and closed positions.
