1439861 Coating with carbon &c in a fluidized bed UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 9 April 1974 [8 May 1973] 21796/73 Heading C7F [Also in Divisions C1 and F4] A fluidized bed for coating e.g. uranium dioxide particles with carbon or silicon carbode by decomposition of e.g. methane or propylene or methyltrichlorosilane has an inlet 5 for the coating gas and an inlet 6 for carrier gas. The arrangement is such that the gases only mix immediately prior to injection into the bed, and the carrier gas is pre-heated in an extension duct 6a.
