1439248 Secondary recovery from wells DOW CHEMICAL CO and MARATHON OIL CO 22 Nov 1973 54303/73 Heading E1F A process for recovering oil from a subterranean formation comprises introducing through one or more input wells a displacing fluid, and a flooding medium which comprises an aqueous solution of a mobility control polymer having a M.W. of at least 1.5 x 10<SP>6</SP>, an aqueous solution of a polymer conserving agent being introduced prior to or concurrently with the displacing fluid; the mobility control polymer and the polymer conserving agent are selected from the group defined by the general formula: Z being greater than 200 in the former and less than 70 in the latter. The displacing fluid is an oil and water emulsion or a micellar dispersion.
