Abstract

1438820 Polyazo dyes SANDOZ Ltd 2 July 1973 [4 July 1972] 31360/73 Heading C4P New azo dyes of formula wherein R is a coupling component radical, R 1 is a coupling component radical different from R, n is 1-4 and rings A and B are further substituted are prepared by successive coupling of two azo components with a tetrazotized 3,8- diamino-dibenzfuran. The dyes may be subsequently etherified or esterified when they contain OH or treated for example with a cyanuric halide when they contain an amino group to introduce a fibre-reactive group. Metal complexes of the dyes are also described. The dyes are used to colour natural and synthetic fibres, paper and leather in yellow, red and brown shades.
