Abstract

1438758 Clip UNITED CARR Ltd 29 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 25060/72 Heading E2B A resilient clip, for attaching an article to a support 24 Fig. 3, which has a stud 25, having a head 27 and a stem 26, projecting therefrom, comprises a base formed by a web and feet 12, 13 for spacing the web from the support and curved portions 14, 15 each of which can receive a cable 22 or 23, for example, as shown in Fig. 5. An elongate slot 18, Fig. 1, in the web has a part-cylindrical bore 19 for receiving the head 27 of the stud and a narrower portion 20 which is for receiving the stem 26 of the stud. A recess 21 formed in a substantially flat surface 16 has the same radius as the bore 19 and extends approximately half way through the depth of the web. When the feet 12, 13 are engaging the support 24, the web can be urged towards the support, the head 27 of the stud 25 being clear of the bore 19. The clip can then be moved to the position shown in Fig. 5 where, upon releasing the pressure applied to the web, the head 27 sits in the recess 21. In other embodiments the slot 18 is across the width of the web, and the latter is provided with four wings, each of which has an undercut surface.
