Abstract
1436591 Curing polyurethane prepolymers DUNLOP Ltd 13 Feb 1974 [28 Feb 1973] 9889/73 Heading C3R Polyurethane prepolymers containing terminal isocyanate groups are cured with a polyamine by (a) so forming a molten adduct of the polyamine and the prepolymer that the ratio of chemical equivalents of the polyamine to the prepolymer exceeds 3 : 1 and (b) incorporating in the molten adduct a further amount of an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer. The prepolymer used in step (b) may be the same or different to that used in forming the molten adduct. Suitably the prepolymer is derived from an aromatic diisocyanate and a polyether diol. The polyamine may be a tolylene diamine, metaphenylene diamine, 4,4<SP>1</SP>-methylene-bis-2-chloroaniline, methylene-bis-aniline or piperazine.
