Abstract

1435682 Copy sheet M SHARKEY 28 Jan 1975 3663/75 Heading D2B [Also in Division B2] A copy sheet suitable for use in pressuresensitive transfer copying systems comprises a flexible paper web having an upper imagereceptive surface coated or impregnated with a synthetic resinous material, which coating or impregnation is non-adhesive to the touch but becomes adhesive under the effects of applied imaging pressure, and an opposite surface which has a discontinuous application of a material which is adhesive to the touch, the arrangement being such that the upper surface has release properties with respect to the adhesive material whereby the sheet can be wound and unwound on a roll without damage thereto. The image receptive release coating may comprise a solid adhesive binder e.g. a tacky or adhesive wax and/or resinous elastomer, and at least 10% by wt. based on the binder of spheres of an inert synthetic organic polymer. The adhesive applied to the other side of the web may be in the form of spaced squares or stripes of double-sided adhesive tape, or may be printed on in the form of spaced squares, dots, stripes, or circles. The copy sheet may be used to receive images of dry-hectograph copy inks, carbon transfer compositions, and carbonless copy transfer compositions.
