Abstract

1435128 Latches BUNKER RAMO CORP 5 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 26785/73 Heading E2A [Also in Division H2] An electrical connector for power cables comprises two identical, moulded dielectric bodies 10 which make hermaphroditic connection by engaging telescopically together large diameter tubes 18 and smaller diameter tubes 20, resilient hooks 22 latching together at 24 to secure the connector halves together. Each connector half 10a or 10b consists of two welded-together portions 12, 14, by means of base elements 16, 34 resp. Rear tubular extensions 36 allow insertion of the contact elements, which may be interchangeably male 48 or female 50, both types comprising tubular cable conductor receiving element (secured by, e.g. crimping) enlarged portion 54 and disc 56.
