Abstract

1435044 Centrifugal governors DAIMLERBENZ AG 15 May 1974 [15 May 1973 15 Jan 1974] 21571/74 Heading G3B A fuel-injection pump-regulating means for an internal combustion engine comprises an axially displaceable fuel regulating rod 3, Fig.1, a lever 8 articulated to the rod and at least indirectly to a lever 10 operable for controlling the fuel supply, and a further articulation point 12 displaceable in dependence on engine speed in the partial-load range by the sliding sleeve 7 of a centrifugal governor, for partial-load regulation, and means 16, 17, for adjusting the maximum displacement of rod 3, also effected by sleeve 7 by a cam track 19a moved in dependence on the speed for full-load fuel limitation, a cam track 19b slidable or pivotable by sleeve 7 and followed by point 12. Lever 8 is articulated to rod 3 by a link 9, and in a modification Fig.3, the further articulation point 12' does not act directly on cam follower 13 but rather acts at a point on link 11, whilst sleeve 7 does not act directly on cam 19 but through a rocker 7' and link 7". In a further modification, sleeve 110, Fig.5, is loaded by springs 108, 109, and rod 112 is connected to pedal 125 by levers 120, 118, 124, and to cam 114 by levers 118, partial load follower 122, lever 130 and full load follower 131, a two-limbed return spring 127 being provided. In another modification, Fig.6 (not shown), rod 112 carries a full load stop 130' and follower 131, and partial load follower 122 is carried by a link 118 articulated to rod 112'.
