1434985 Web tensioning devices CHAMBON Ltd 11 July 1973 [11 July 1972] 32980/73 Heading B8R A web tensioning device comprises a pair of rollers 2a, 2b, engaging a moving web 1 and driven thereby, a lever 7 mounted pivotally on a stud 8 upstream of the rollers, and supporting at its free end downstream of the rollers 2a, 2b a tension sensing roller 5, the pivotal movement of the lever brought about by the variation in tension of web causing a pad 10, supported intermediate the ends of the lever 7, to be applied to or lifted off the roller 2a to control the braking moment of the rollers 2a, 2b.
