1434645 3- Tetrazolylcoumarins and process for their preparation and their pharmaceutical compositions BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 19 Sept 1974 [11 Oct 1973] 47484/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of Formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof wherein R is an alkyl or phenyl group; R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are independently a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, benzyl, pyridyl or carboxylic acid group or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or amide of a carboxylic acid group, an acyloxy group, or any adjacent two of R 1 to R 4 together represent a butadienylene or tetramethylene group provided that when R 1 = R 2 = R 7 = R 4 = H, RCH 3 which may be prepared by reacting a compound of Formula II with ammonium azide. Pharmaceutical compositions useful in the prophylaxis and treatment of diseases associated with allergic or immunological reactions, for injection or oral application comprise a compound of Formula I or acceptable salt thereof together with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
