Abstract
1433060 Rubber-containing resins DAICEL Ltd 27 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 35810/73 Heading C3G A rubber-containing resin composition is produced by carrying out a bulk-suspension two-stage polymerization of (A) monomer selected from (1) an aromatic monoalkenyl monomer and (2) a mixture of said aromatic monoalkenyl monomer with another monoalkenyl monomer in the presence of (B) a butadiene rubber elastomer and incorporating in the polymerization mixture before the polymerization from 1 to 10% by weight, based on said monomer(s) of a straight chain saturated polyester having a number average molecular weight of 1000 to 50,000. Examples are given in which (A) is styrene and acrylonitrile, (B) is butadienestyrene copolymer and the polyester is polycaprolactone, adipic acid/1,3-butylene glycol polyester or a modified polyethylene terephthalate made from terephthalic acid, sebacic acid, ethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol.
