1432195 Chains K HENNIG 27 Nov 1973 [19 Dec 1972 20 Sept 1973] 54915/73 Heading F2Q Power feed cables 9-12 are supported between two chain bands 1, 2 by frames comprising at least two cross-ties 4, 5 (Fig. 1) and spacers 6, 7, 8, interposed between rigidly interconnecting and longitudinally adjustable with respect to the cross-ties, one cross-tie at least being releasable from the spacers. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 the spacers 6-8 comprise plates (Fig. 3, not shown) held by nuts 14, 15 in a slot in each spacer loosening of the nuts allowing a spacer to be moved to accommodate different sizes of cable, and removal of, say, nuts 14 and bolts 16 and 18 allowing the cross-tie 4 to be removed. In the embodiment of Fig. 5 the spaces each comprise two screw-threaded rods, 37a, 37b and the cross-ties 34, 35 are of U-section, enclosing nuts 38, 39, the rods 37a or 37b being screwed into or out of the nuts to loosen or tighten the spacer. A sleeve 40 with split pins 41, 42 can interconnect the rods. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 8 a cross-tie 54, 55 is loosened and rotated to remove it from a spacer 57<SP>1</SP>, and the cross-ties may alternatively engage in slots in opposite sides of the spacers (Fig. 7, not shown) or there may be four cross-ties engaging in slots in each spacer (Fig. 9, not shown). In further embodiments the spacers may have a bore for engagement of a rod-like cross-tie and a slot for releasable engagement of the other (Fig. 10, not shown) or cylindrical spacers may replace the fllat plates of Fig. 1 (Fig. 4, not shown).
