Abstract

1432193 Magnetic-record disc cassettes ARVIN INDUSTRIES Inc 27 June 1973 [27 June 1972 10 Nov 1972] 5986/75 Divided out of 1432191 Heading G5R A flexible magnetic record disc 125, Fig. 9, e.g. of magnetic tape material, is secured to a hub 135 and rotatably contained in a cassette 120, 122 having an opening 122a allowing driving connection to the hub 135 and an elongated radially-extending opening 145 providing access for a transducer to the record surface. As shown, the flexible record disc 125 is provided with flexible backing discs 127, 128 secured to the hub 135 and a stationary flexible backing sheet 130 fastened to the cassette. The cassette may be two-sided, Fig. 13, containing two record discs 157, 158, or may have flexible linings 228, 229, Fig. 22, and shims 235, 236 to guide the flexible record disc 230 past the transducer 73.
