Abstract

1431319 Reciprocating conveyers COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIT-ALCATEL 2 Aug 1973 [2 Aug 1972] 36812/73 Heading B8A [Also in Divisions C6-C7] Automatic apparatus for the treatment of articles with liquids, e.g. including electrolytic treatment, comprises a row of tanks c1 to c24 for treating the articles with a sequence of liquids; a mobile unit, e.g. m1 or m2 (Fig. 4, not shown) capable of moving intermittently along the row of tanks and lowering the articles into the tanks; support frames (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown) for carrying the articles to be treated; a loading station pc at the input end of the row for supplying the mobile unit with the support frames each carrying the articles to be treated; and a shaker control station ca (Figs. 12 and 13, not shown) at the output end of the row for actuating two parallel shaker bars ba1 and ba2, for shaking the support frames when the articles they carry are lowered into tanks and undergoing treatment; the loading and shaker control stations being connected together by the shaker bars and the mobile unit being adapted to transfer the support frames from one tank to another along the row. The mobile unit may support the workpiece support by electromagnetic means, means being provided for tilting the workpiece support, for draining, after removal from each treating bath (Fig. 6, not shown), and a plurality of mobile units may be used; each serving a number of treatment stations. In operation the shaker bars are stationary whilst the workpiece is moved from one position to another; and are biased towards a central position for these moves.
