Abstract
1430828 Hot-dip zinc galvanizing steel strip NIPPON KOKAN KK 8 Aug 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 37507/73 Heading C7F In continuous hot-dip galvanizing steel strip in which the strip is pre-heated above the dipping temperature and is cooled in three steps, viz rapid, slow and rapid, the final cooling is controlled to give a strip temperature of 460-300C immediately prior to passing into the molten zinc. Conventional processes of preparing the strip are used with e.g. an air cooler or fan for the final step. The strip entry temperature to the bath may be monitored and controlled constant by automatic retroactive control of the cooler. In this process the zinc bath must be externally heated.
