Abstract

1430464 Peptides MITSUI PHARMACEUTICALS Inc 4 Feb 1974 35276/73 Heading C3H [Also in Division A5] Tuberculin active peptides which comprise the amino acid sequence are obtained from human, bovine or avian type tubercule bacilli by conventional extraction procedures, e.g. treatment with a lipid-dissolving solvent of heat-killed bacilli and subsequent working up of water-soluble proteinaceous material obtained therefrom, e.g. by dialysis, chromatographic, electrophoretic and gel-filtration techniques. Particular materials described include a simple protein of 89 amino acid residues (structure given) obtained from Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain aoyama B and the pentapeptide which is obtained by hydrolysis of the more complex polypeptides of the invention and subsequent separation.
