Abstract
1430338 De-icing aircraft D W YOUNG 4 June 1974 24619/74 Heading B7W [Also in Division H4] In an elongated waveguide type antenna (see Division H4) utilizing mechanical elements for effecting scanning of the antenna beam, which may be mounted in the leading edge of an aircraft wing, provision is made for deicing the wing. In Fig. 4, ducts 29 running longitudinally of the waveguide 14 are provided to carry hot air. In Fig. 5, plastics strip 44, which is positioned in front of the radiating holes 20 of the waveguide 14 may be provided with a conductive track 51, for carrying an electric current to heat the surrounding area of the wing for de-icing purposes.
