Abstract

1429794 Valves LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 March 1973 [18 March 1972] 12799/72 Heading F2V A fluid flow control valve comprises, e.g. a pair of nozzles 12, 13, the end surfaces 12a, 13a of which are concave and part-cylindrical, and a valve member 15 pivotable about an axis 16 and having valve closure surfaces in the form of part-cylindrical surfaces 15a, 15b. The centre of curvature 14 of the nozzles surfaces and the centres of curvature 17, 18 closure surfaces lie on an arc with its centre on the axis 16. The valve member may be actuated by a torque motor. In alternative embodiments, the valve member (115, Fig. 4, not shown) has a sharp cut-off surface, or its closure surfaces have coincident centres of curvature (217, Fig. 5, not shown). The valve may have one, three or more nozzles.
