Abstract
1428785 Securing samples to cards POLYTEX AG 28 Aug 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 40537/73 Heading B8F A machine for assembling pattern cards having a plurality of pattern materials adhered to a card comprising a housing having a table portion a glueing station provided at one end of the table portion for applying glue to a card, a pattern material attachment station mounted on the table portion and adjacent the glueing station and having at least one support for supporting a stack of pattern material, a horizontal guide mounted on the housing, a carriage mounted for movement in the guide and slidable between a forward position whereat the carriage overlies the table portion and a rearward position whereat access is provided to the table portion, and displacing means for displacing the carriage when in the forward position vertically downwards towards the table portion for causing glue to be applied to an unglued card positioned at the glueing station and simultaneously pressing a glued card previously glued in the glueing station and positioned in the attachment station on the stack of pattern material. As shown in Fig. 2 the carriage 2 is guided in horizontal guide rails 3 by rollers 20. During the pressing movement the guides glide down the glide bars 6. The glueing area comprises a compressing plate 21 mounted on the carriage 2 and a glue case 41 with felt blocks 42. The glue case is mounted on table 40 and contains liquid glue L and the felt blocks are raised at every point where the card is to be glued. A resilient support 43 having the shape of a grid whose grid strips run between the felt blocks is above the glue case for a card to be glued. The support rests on four pins 44, resiliently housed in casings 45. As shown in Fig. 4 the adhering area comprises a pressing plate 22 mounted in the carriage 2 and a resiliently housed material-magazine case 50 mounted underneath on a table. The case has a base 51 perforated according to a uniform raster, the perforations being used both for fixing the supporting and separating blocks 52 for holding the pattern material piles and as passages for resilient pins 54 which press the whole pattern pile M through the pressing movement of the carriage on to the glued points of the card. These pins are guided to the housings 55 containing a compression spring and fixed to the corresponding points in a table plate 56 perforated according to the same raster. A rigid base 57 is mounted under the pile so that the pins 54 do not press directly on to the pattern material piles. The supporting and separating blocks 52 are provided with pins 53 by which they are fixed in the perforations of the base 51. The whole case 50 rests on four resilient pins 58 which are guided into housings 59. In another embodiment of the invention (Fig. 6, not shown) the glueing operation comprises a screen printing process.
