Abstract

1428034 Compartmented containers M TOMASELLO 18 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18765/73 Heading B8D [Also in Division G1] A container and test tube combination for collecting urine to be tested comprises a container 1 having an open mouth at one of its longitudinally axial ends and a base at the other, a chamber within the container and formed for example by a housing 4 within the container and integral with it, the housing in the embodiment shown removably supporting the test tube with its open end uppermost, the dimensions of the test tube and container and the arrangement of the housing being such that when the test tube is supported by the housing, the mouth of the test tube is spaced inwardly of the mouth of the container a distance which is small compared with the axial length of the container, and urine being collected can flow into both the container and the chamber. The test tube may be removed by pressing upwardly on a thin part 6 of the base beneath the test tube. The container and/or the test tube may be of plastics material and the container may have a snap-on lid. Both the container wall and the test tube wall may have areas adapted to the direct or indirect application of scripts and labels.
