Abstract

1426085 Eye-examining apparatus OPTISCHE WERKE G RODENSTOCK 9 July 1973 [10 Feb 1973] 32618/73 Heading G2J A slit lamp microscope assembly for eye examination has, on the object side in front of the microscope 1, a device 2 which bends the optical axis of the observation ray path 4 away from the axis of the microscope as at 5 and then on to the eye being examined at 6. The device comprises two mirrors or two or more reflecting surfaces in a prism. As shown the prism 2 has two reflecting surfaces and is horizontally hinged at 3 to a plate 9 detachably connected to the microscope, so that as shown the eye is viewed at an angle without shifting eye or microscope while on hinging the prism upwards, the eye is viewed directly along line 6,4. The plate 9 may carry the hinged portion of the device rotatably on a vertical spigot which allows other apparatus to be secured thereto or the plate may carry a photographic attachment. The device may be slidably or magnetically attached to the microscope.
