Abstract

1425617 Valves KITAMURA VALVE MFG CO Ltd 5 June 1973 [12 June 1972 (2)] 26701/73 Heading F2V In a rotary vlave, e.g. of the ball type shown, wherein a metal valve element 11, Fig. 2, is mounted in a metal housing 1 and co-operates with electrically insulative seats 14, the element 11 is centrally supported at its base by a member, e.g. a metal ball 24 or spring (24a), Fig. 3 (not shown), which is electrically conductive. Thus build up of static electricity in the otherwise isolated element 11 is avoided. Sheets of graphite 26 (30) are provided between the supporting member and the element 11 and housing 1 to minimize wear and improve electrical conductivity. The actuating shaft 16 extends through gland packing 19, washer 20 and sleeve 21.
