Abstract
1421815 Burner fuel valve leak testing G KROMSCHRODER AG 30 April 1973 20538/73 Heading F4T [Also in Division G1] The effective closure of two valves 3, 4 disposed in series in a fuel line 2 leading to a burner 1 is tested after closure of said valves by subjecting the section 2.1 of fuel line between the valves to a reduced pressure by means of a vacuum pump 8 via a valve 6, a pressure sensitive switch 9 indicating the result of the testing, and a valve 12 in a by-pass line 10 around the pump 8 being arranged to relieve positive pressure in the line section 2.1 prior to evacuation thereof by the pump. The bypass line valve may be a non-return valve or a valve 12 having an electric actuator controlled by a pressure sensitive switch 11 which responds to a slight positive pressure in section 2.1 to open valve 12 which is closed when, or shortly before, the pressure in section 2.1 reaches atmospheric pressure. A filler 7 is provided upstream of pump 8. A cam operated timer may control the testing sequence. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1,211,199 and 1,250,161.
