Abstract

1421710 Aluminium base alloy printing plate; electrolytic etching BRITISH ALUMINIUM CO Ltd 27 Aug 1974 37396/74 Headings C7A and C7B An offset printing plate has at least its core formed of an alloy comprising:- the balance being Al. Preferably the whole plate is made of the alloy when the surface may be etched, e.g. electrolytically in 0.04-0.5M HCl with a current density of 100-1000 A/m<SP>2</SP>, prior to preparation of the plate. Various heat treatments are disclosed.
