Abstract

1421479 Steam generators GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE AG 30 Nov 1973 [2 Dec 1972] 55561/73 Heading F4A A steam generator comprises steam separators 8 surounded by an annular overflow plate 15 whose upper edge 16 is located above the level of the water outlets 12 of the separators so that water discharged from the outlets fills the space bounded by the plate 15 to form a hydraulic seal. Drain holes 18 are provided at the base of plate 15 to allow the water in the space bounded by the plate to flow to the annular feed space 10. The total cross-sectional area of the holes is such that, when the space bounded by the plate 15 is filled with water, the flow rate of water through the holes is less, preferably half, than that from the water outlets 12 of the separators.
