Abstract

1420357 Valves C A BJORKLUND 5 March 1973 10463/73 Heading F2V A valve incorporates a space which on valve closure increases in volume to suck back liquid from the valve outlet and thereby prevent drip. In a burner supply valve, reduction in pressure of oil flowing from inlet 608 through passages 607, 611 to burner duct 615, causes disc 616 to move away from housing 613 to connect inlet 608 directly with return duct 614. The consequent fall in pressure in passage 607 causes a rubber sleeve 606 to contract along its entire length on to cylinder 609 whereby it shuts off flow to duct 615 and creates a chamber between the housing and the right-hand portion of the sleeve. The creation of the chamber produces a vacuum which creates the desired suck back in the duct 615 via passage 700.
