Abstract

1419850 Pipe couplings McEVOY OILFIELD EQUIPMENT CO 4 May 1973 2589/75 Divided out of 1419849 Heading F2G A coupling providing for case of connection between a fluid pressure valve control line 69 carried by a tubing head 11 of subsea well completion equipment, the head having a radial bore 310 therethrough, and a passage 61 in a well head tubing hanger 43, in which the bore 310 and passage 61 may be slightly misaligned on assembly of the head 11, comprises a conduit 302 connected to the line 69 and screwed into the passage 61 by means of tapered screw threads 304, 306, the bore 310 being larger than the external diameter of the conduit 302 so as to permit bending of the conduit therein. A rubber ring 326 surrounds the conduit 302 within a counterbore 312 in the head 11, the ring being compressed by a nut 330 bearing on a ring 334 and the rubber ring 326 being contained by two rings 322, 324 which allow for movement of the conduit within the head 11. A collar 342 on the conduit 302 will prevent blowout of the conduit if the screw connection with the passage 61 breaks and will assist in disassembly of the rubber ring packing when required. The Specification also discloses well head completion equipment as in the parent Specification 1,419,849 (see Division E1).
