Abstract

1419008 Pressure cooker BRAUN & KEMMLER 5 March 1973 [10 March 1972] 10517/73 Heading BIX [Also in Division F2] A pressure cooker comprises a vessel having bayonet catch segments 11 around its rim, a lid 12 lockable to the, vessel by complementary bayonet catch segments, a sealing ring 15 between the rim of the vessel and the rim of the lid and handle 14 secured to the rim of the lid and incorporating a safety mechanism which comprises toothed venting and locking pins 21 and 23 engaging on opposite sides and in staggered relationship with the teeth of pinion 19 so that rotation of the pinion by means of the lever 16 in one direction simultaneously withdraws the venting pin into an inoperative position and extends the locking pin to an operative position preventing rotation of the lid and in the other direction withdraws the locking pin to allow rotation of the lid and extends the venting pin to unseal the sealing ring and vent the cooker (the position shown in both Figs.).
