Abstract
1418571 Jointing compositions CHEMISHE WERKE HULS AG 6 April 1973 [7 April 1972 8 April 1972 26 April 1972] 16572/73 Heading C3P Jointing compositions comprise (1) a largely amorphous plastic polyolefin, (2) a polybutene oil and (3) a filler. The compositions may also contain polybutadiene oils, unsaturated triglycerides and driers, and may be applied by spraying or trowelling. The amorphous polyolefin may be a polybutene-1, polypropylene or polyhexene-1, or a copolymer of butene-1 with ethylene and/or propylene and/or hexene-1. The polybutene oils may be derived from C 4 cuts containing butene-1, butene-2 and optionally isobutylene and/or butadiene. The filler may be silica, silicates, graphite, sulphates, carbonates, talc, slate powder, rock powder or kaolin. The triglyceride may be linseed, dehydrated castor, Chinese wood, Japanese wood, poppy seed, hemp, perilla or walnut oil. The drier may be cobalt, lead or manganese resinates, oleates, stearates, palmitates, octoates or naphthenates. Examples describe compositions comprising polybutene oils together with (1) polybutene-1 or polypropylene and talc, (2) polybutene-1 or polyhexene-1, chalk, silica, polybutadiene oil and cobalt octoate, (3) butene/ propylene/ethylene terpolymer, kaolin, polybutadiene oil and manganese naphthenate, (4) polybutene and talc, (5) butene/propylene copolymer and talc, (6) butene/propylene/ethylene terpolymer and kaolin, (7) polybutene, chalk, silica, polybutadiene oil and cobalt octoate, (8) polybutene, talc, linseed oil and cobalt octoate, (9) polybutene or butene/propylene/ethylene terpolymer, chalk, silica, linseed oil stand oil and cobalt octoate, and (10) butene/ propylene or butene/hexene-1 copolymer, kaolin, castor oil and cobalt octoate.
