Abstract
1418338 Aromatic - sulphone - sulphonic acid salts LABORATORIOS DEL DR ESTEVE SA 3 May 1973 [17 May 1972] 21142/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I), (II) and (III) where R is aryl, alkylaryl or aralkyl and B is an alkali metal cation, an equivalent of an alkaline earth metal cation, ammonium or an optionally substituted amine cation, are made by reacting compounds IV (themselves obtained by oxidizing corresponding hydroquinones with HNO 3 ) with R.SO 2 H, where, when R 1 is H, R 2 is H or -SO 3 B and when R 1 is -SO 3 B, R 2 is H. Pharmaceutical preparations showing hemostatic, hypocholesterolemic, hypoglycedemic and hypolipemic actions contain (I), (II) and/or (III) as active ingredient. Administration is orally or parenterally.
