Abstract

1418032 Display devices ELLIOTT BROS (LONDON) Ltd 16 Feb 1973 [20 April 1972] 18369/72 Heading G5C [Also in Division H1] A visual position indictor, which may be an illuminated switch, has a transparent displaceable body 1 which may receive light from lamp 11 through differently coloured regions 6 or 7 depending on the axial position of the body in direction 13, this light being reflected forward by inclined face 4 to illuminate an opalescent display face 3. Another embodiment, Fig. 4, provides reflecting faces 33, 34 as truncated cones to permit rotation of body 31, as for a rotary switch, whilst changing the colour of display 32 only on axial displacement of body 31. A further form responds to rotation of the body portion by dividing the conical portion axially into two differently coloured halves of semi-circular section.
