Abstract
1415245 Fluoroalkyl iodide telomerization process KALI-CHEMIE AG 4 April 1973 [17 April 1972] 16199/73 Heading C2C Fluoroalkyl iodide telomers of the formula where n = 3 to 20, m = 1, 2 or 3, R 1 and R 2 = H or halogen or C 1-4 alkyl and the perfluoroalkyl radical is a straight or branched chain radical, are produced by reacting a perfluoroalkyl iodide telomer with ethylene, which may be substituted with one or more halogen atoms or C 1-4 alkyl radicals, in the presence of a percarboxylic acid catalyst or mixture of the formula where each X = H, F or Cl, n<SP>1</SP> = 1 to 12. Reaction temperature of from 50‹ to 200‹C. and pressures of from 0 to 20 atmos. gauge are used. 0À04 to 1À0% by weight of catalyst may be present.
