Abstract
1414908 Space heaters PAVEG-ANSTALT 18 Dec 1973 [18 Dec 1972] 58446/73 Heading F4S A one-piece light-alloy cast element for use in a combined convector space heater and sectional radiator, comprises upper and lower connector pipe pieces 2, 3 extending from a transverse web 1, internally threaded right and left hand at their opposite ends, and interconnected by at least one fluid duct 10, Fig. 4. Radiation plates 4 are formed at opposite edges of the web 1, and, in a space heater comprising a plurality of the elements, said plates 4 together form a substantially continuous radiating surface whilst convection air passages are formed by fins 5 extending outwardly from both sides of the web 1. Recesses 7 at the edges of the radiation plates 4 co-operate to form openings 8, Fig. 2, through which means 11, Fig. 3 for supporting the radiator on a wall may extend. Such openings may be provided also at the lower end of the heater. Coupling means (not shown) between adjacent elements are of a material having substantially the same coefficient of expansion as that of the elements. The elements are preferably cast in an aluminium alloy containing not more than 0À1% weight of copper. The entire outer surface of the radiator may be laquered.
