1414104 Toy ovens IDEAL TOY CORP 15 Jan 1974 [8 Feb 1973] 01788/74 Heading A6S [Also in Division B5] A toy oven 10 does not use heat or eceltricity but which reconstitutes a food product prepared for the table by compression, comprises a mould 18 into which the food product 47 is inserted and is then covered by a lid 34, &c the mould being placed on the oven floor 52 which is mounted by links 50 at its rear to the oven cabinet 56 and pivots 62 at its front to the oven door 16 so that when the door is pivoted upwards and closed, the oven floor 52 is raised to squeeze the mould lid 34, &c, against the fixed roof 46 of the oven. The mould lid 34 is thus telescoped into the mould 18, and the food product 47 compressed and reconstituted. The links 50, &c, are arranged to go over-centre when the door 16 is closed, so that the door remains shut. A simulated timer knob 86 is depressed to force a suction disc 72 onto a flat surface 78 against the biass of a spring 80. After about a minute the spring 80 disengages the suction cup 72, and carries a block 83 back smartly to the position shown in Fig. 4 adjacent a slot 19. When the oven door 16 is closed, a tab 17 at its top edge extends through the slot 19. The block 83 returning to the position shown in Fig. 4 hammers the tab 17, and partly opens the door 16. At the same time, as the block 83 returns to its rest position, it rings a bell, Fig. 7 (not shown), to indicate that the simulated "cooking" period has been completed. The oven door 16 is swung down to its fully open position, the mould 18 taken out, and the reconstituted food product 47 removed from the mould. The mould 18 has a hole in its bottom through which a finger is inserted to push up a full diameter disc lying free on its bottom, thus facilitating removal of the compressed food. As shown, the mould 18 is circular in crosssection: alternatively it may be of clover-leaf &c shape. The toy oven is provided with packets 20 of the food product, a toy mixing bowl 22. water jug 24, toy spoon 28 and a spatula 26.
