Abstract

1414199 Vehicle sun visors HAPPICH GmbH Gebr 13 April 1973 [2 June 1972] 18027/73 Heading B7J A sun visor consists of a support 1 moulded from plastics material with a cover 2 connected therewith by a film hinge 3, the support having journals 4, 5 of unequal length on which a visor body is pivoted, the cover having recesses 10 which in the closed position thereof engage over the journals with the bevelled surfaces 13 of beads 11 contacting flanges 12 to force arms 6 carrying the journals apart and providing friction between the flanges and visor body to enable the body to be retained in any set position. In a modification a bar formed integrally with the cover forces the arms 6 apart when the cover is closed and friction is produced between abutting plates located on the arms and the body. Alternatively a bar within the cover may engage a groove formed in the visor body, Fig. 2 (not shown).
