Abstract
1414064 Heavy duty detergent COLGATE PALMOLIVE CO 6 Sept 1973 [15 Sept 1972] 42013/73 Heading C5D A heavy-duty synthetic detergent composition comprises (a) 5-25 weight per cent of a C 10-20 alkane sulphonate, (b) 1-5% of a non- ionic polyoxyalkylene detergent, (c) 1-5% of a C 12-18 soap, (d) 5-20% of sodium silicate having an Na 2 O to SiO 2 ratio between 1 to 1À6 and 1 to 2À8, (e) 40-75% of carbonate selected from alkali metal carbonates and bicarbonates with a major proportion thereof being carbonate, (f) 0À5-4% of an antiredeposition agent and (g) 1-20% water. The composition may also include an optical brightener, a perfume and a dodecylbenzene sulphonate. Ingredients specified include a sodium alkane monosulphonate, a sodium alkane disulphonate, a fatty alcoholethylene oxide adduct, sodium tallow soap, sodium coconut soap, sodium carbonate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, hydroxypropyl cellulose and hydroxyethyl cellulose.
