Abstract

1412351 Tyres SUPER TIRE ENG CO 17 March 1973 12975/73 Heading B7C A tyre comprises a tread portion of depth "a" in Fig. 7 and an undertread portion radially inwardly of the tread portion, the tyre being characterised by the provision of slots 20 formed in the undertread portion and provided at spaced-apart locations along a groove 10 in the tread portion, the slots 20 being significantly narrower than the groove 10. The slots 20 have tie bars 21 having a height equal to the minimum required tread depth. The walls of the groove 10 are secured together by tie bars 15.
