Abstract

1411305 Vehicle sliding roofs; luggage racks CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 11 April 1974 [24 May 1973 5 Dec 1973] 24959/73 and 56289/73 Headings B7B and B7J A roof aperture closure panel 14 slides in a U-shaped frame 13 below the level of a luggage rack 17 which is also supported by the frame 13. As illustrated, the rack is in the form of a ribbed sheet secured to frame flanges 28 and 29. The panel 14 slides on a frame gutter flange 23 and has a sealing strip 24 which engages the frame. The frame is bolted to the vehicle roof, Fig. 5 (not shown), and has apertures for use in tying luggage to the rack, Fig. 1 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 8 (not shown), the luggage rack is formed by spaced struts extending between the limbs of the frame.
