Abstract

1409808 Laminated honeycomb material DUFAYLITE DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 9 Jan 1974 [10 Oct 1972] 46567/72 Heading B5N A laminated honeycomb comprises layers of paper or cardboard secured by bands of adhesive and having vents in the form of rows of colinear slits spaced from and parallel to said bands. The honeycomb may be provided as a block from which slices can be cut, expanded and laminated between facing layers of wood or hardboard to form a door or panel. The block may be formed by lapping, winding or stacking webs which have been slit and coated with adhesive. In one embodiment, a two-ply web is formed by bands of adhesive, is slit through its thickness and is coated on one face with bands of adhesive staggered relative to the first bands. This web is cut into lengths which are assembled to form the block. Rows of slits may be omitted at certain positions to provide venting in one direction only.
